Sherilyn Alexander's HOPE BLOOMS

A journey to find and make our unique contribution in this world by creating a life that is a masterpiece!

Talking Circles: 'As long as there is Earth and Water there will be stories. For this is where the Ancestors came from a place where our stories began ~ woven with time. As long as there is Air there will be stories. For the Air gives breathe to the Storyteller who gives life to these stories ~ to be told through time. As long as there is Fire there will be stories. For the Fire will bring the people together; it will dance these stories ~ keeping them alive with the passing of time. These are the four Sacred Elements - gifts from the Creator. They weave us into the tapestry of the Universe.' (~ Muin'iskw)

PRINCIPLE, PRACTICE & LIVING: ‘Thoughts on how to live’

Sherilyn’s Quarterly Reflection (Summer 2016): Light ~ Spirit ~ Body.

There is nothing on a separate track! One and All are interwoven, in the manner of a spider’s web – the sacred geometric shapes, as prisms to the Chakra system to the energies of World Mother elemental life – fire, air, water, and earth. Spiritually speaking, the human experience necessitates a clearing of the energy flows first; before the full activation of sacred Light has the ability to radiate from the soul-level outward, in accordance with a soul’s Life Plan.

The quality and speed of this Light current within the body, it is determined by the brain wave pattern, with Theta wave considered to be the entrance into mastery and ascension. There is free will involvement, with a choice required: To grow into a responsible and enlightened Spiritual adult.

One does not grow alone, as stated in the Golden Ratio “the same pattern of creation within is found all around us. We are all connected within the web of Creative Oneness.”

CHINESE TEA CULTURE. Practice makes perfect in all things!

In the spirit of harmony and the mysterious unity of the universe: The drinking tea is considered to be a better way to appreciate life. Tea is a pillar of life itself. In ancient times it was used for healing, as medicine. Tea reflects the Asian traditional culture, combining tea with Tao (Dao) wisdom.

Tea is considered to have 10 virtues: Melting away depression, dissolving lethargy, encouraging liveliness, breaking up illness, bringing virtue and courtesy, expressing respect, making a distinction between different tastes, nurturing the body, practicing Tao (Dao), and improving one’s aspirations to grow into spiritual maturity.

“Tea brings Dao and elegance.”

PRINCIPLE, PRACTICE & LIVING: ‘Thoughts on how to live’

Sherilyn’s Quarterly Reflection (Spring 2016): Express aesthetic vision in everything.

There are alternative pathways for expressing gentle love. Doorways can be opened into other realms of understanding the mysteries of heaven and beauty of nature. The key to keeping the doors open; it is best described in the poem: “The Three Doors.”

To paraphrase - There is said to be three doors to the kingdom of heaven: To know-to work-to pray. Those who wait at the outer gate; may enter by either way: Deep study and prayer/meditation or throwing oneself into definite activity for Him.

It has been said that perfect love is the path to holiness. Filled with the wonder and beauty of God’s plan, one must initiate an orderly design and arranged service for living through a combination of will, wisdom, and activity.

PRINCIPLE, PRACTICE & LIVING: ‘Thoughts on how to live’

Sherilyn’s Quarterly Reflection (Autumn 2015): Meditation, Mudras and Visualization

Meditation is a practice with benefits to body, mind and spirit. An effective stress management tool, it also encourages relaxation responses. With consistent repetition, it has been noted to assist the brain work better. The methods can vary depending on the issues to be addressed, for example: Mantra meditation includes the repetition of certain phrases, with the vibration itself found to be soothing and healing.

Mudras & Visualizations. While most mudras (symbolic spiritual gestures in Hinduism and Buddhism) involve the hands and fingers, some mudras involve the entire body. Visualization is one of the most powerful tools available to create in life.

Contemplative Yogic Meditation The more these two visualizations are repeated, the stronger the awareness and connective results, as this practice taps into the core essence and meaning of your being.

Affirmations. Practice makes perfect in all things!

After taking a few calming breaths, from a tranquil place of peaceful heart and mind, and seated in a comfortable manner: With compassion for ALL Life, affirm, with the mind revolving from syllable-to-syllable, in a quiet, steady voice: “OM MANI PADME HUM” (OM Mah-Nee Pud-May Hoom) – Jewel of Enlightenment is in the Heart Lotus.
